Campden Vs Kenilworth

Campden Vs Kenilworth

May 21st, 2017

The weather was on our side yesterday, the rain held off and meant we were one of the few teams to get a game in. Kenilworth loss the toss and Campden elected to bowl first. S Groves and S Nicholls opened the bowling, each taking a wicket. J Groves and D Moore JNR both came on as first change and the wickets started to fall, J Groves taking 2 and D Moore JNR taking 3. J Lindner bought Kenilworths innings to a close, taking an impressive 3 wickets. A superb effort in the field from Campden, both S Groves and D Moore JNR taking 2 notable catches, as well as Captain I Harrison taking a catch behind the stumps. With Kenilworth all out, Campden required a total of 154 to win.

S Nicholls and D Moore JNR opened the batting, with S Nicholls not wasting any time striking 4 off the first ball of the game. A strong partnership started to build between J Groves and D Moore JNR increasing the run rate in no time at all. D Moore JNR looked in fine form, getting a quick fire 42 followed by an experienced and skillfull 42* from D Moore SNR. R John took to the crease and steadied the ship with a solid 12 leaving the game wide open for the Captain, Leader, Legend to take the glory and hit the winning runs.

Great win to get 19 points, leaving us 4 points clear at the top of the table. Looking forward to next weeks fixture against Ashton - Under - Hill.
