Taylor-made for Dan!

June 10th, 2015
Chipping Campden 251-3
Overbury 155 all out

With half centuries from Sam Nicholls and Guy Nicholls - when was the last time a father and son pairing both got half centuries in the same innings? - as well as Jack Groves, Campden made their way to 251-3 on a beautiful summer’s day at the Chipping Campden Cricket Club ground, on Saturday, 6th June.

Tight bowling from Joe Cafearo initially saw Overbury kept to 36-2 after 18 overs. The pressure continued and returning maestro Dan Taylor took three wickets on his comeback, including a leg side stumping off his first delivery! Some observers have called the stumping one of the finest in living memory and we thank Mr Harrison for his input into this report. Sam Groves mopped up the tail with three quick wickets at the end, helping to ensure 22 points in the bag for Campden.

Overbury battled hard throughout the game, as befitting a top of the table clash..
