Information for Campden Colts 2017

Are you aged between 6 and 13 years old and want to have some fun? Then why not join the Chipping Campden Colts and learn how to play cricket?

Governed by ECB registered coaches and support workers, the Campden Colts will be meeting every Friday evening during the summer for 2 hours in instruction, training and friendly rivalry.

Full equipment is provided and there are facilities for parents to stay and watch or indeed join in and assist us. So if you are aged between 6 & 13 and think you could become the next England Cricketing hero or heroine, then come and join the Campden Colts and we’ll help you get started!

We meet between 6-8pm every Friday from 5th May until 21st July 2017 at the Chipping Campden Cricket Club, off Station Road, Chipping Campden.

As ever we are looking to all parents to hopefully lend a hand and get involved wherever they can. We are short of coaches at the moment and would love to welcome some more happy volunteers! Don’t worry we would only pair you up with someone experienced and we will be running a 3 hour introduction to coaching course before the start of the season. This will boost confidence and give you the tools to entertain and work with the children. The ethos is on Fun rather than pure cricket skills..

So if anyone would like to get involved in anyway please come back to me (costello.1@btopenworld.com), Penny(pennylindnerchippingcampden@gmail.com) or James Lindner(jameslindner@hotmail.com) as soon as you can!!

On the catering front this year we would like to change a couple of things. We would love you guys to be more involved so with that in mind we would like to allocate certain weeks to certain group parent/gaurdians groups when it come to running the BBQ!! Don’t worry all food and equipment provided and experienced help will be there if anyone is concerned. It will only be twice in the whole season for each age group..! We think it would be a great way of getting more parents involved with the running of the Friday nights, you get a free drink and Its fun too we promise!!

This year we will be running a registration evening (as per last year) on the 28.4.2017 from 6.00pm-8.00pm This is to allow everyone to register, have a drink, meet the coaches and basically reacquaint with the club. There will be no formal training but Nets will be open, equipment and balls will be available for the Children to play with and generally have fun. The U13s WILL be training so please come prepared for that.
